Abstract
Checkout Summit 2026 is now behind us, but what came out of it is still very much unfolding—and this session is where I try to make sense of it all in a way that’s actually useful for you as a WooCommerce maker, founder, or builder.
This isn’t a recap in the traditional sense. I won’t just walk through what happened on stage or repeat the agenda. Instead, I’ll take you behind the scenes of the event and focus on the patterns that kept showing up everywhere: in talks, in conversations with speakers, in hallway discussions, and in the quieter moments where people are more honest about what’s really working (and what isn’t). Those are usually the insights that matter most, but rarely make it into public summaries.
The goal here is to translate all of that into something practical. Because inspiration is nice, but what most of us actually need is clarity on what to do next. So we’ll look at what should realistically change in your work right now—whether that’s how you build WooCommerce products, how you think about growth, how you position yourself in the ecosystem, or simply how you decide where to invest your limited time over the next few months.
At the same time, I want to zoom out. One of the most valuable parts of doing an event like this is seeing the bigger shifts forming underneath the surface. What direction is WooCommerce heading in? What expectations are changing for merchants, developers, and product creators? And what does that mean if you’re trying to build something sustainable over the next 1–2 years, not just the next launch cycle?
We’ll also talk about something I don’t think gets discussed enough: how easy it is to misread momentum. After an event like this, it’s tempting to chase every idea or overreact to every trend. But the real advantage comes from filtering noise, picking a direction early, and doubling down consistently—especially in a space like WooCommerce where execution matters more than ideas.
