WooCommerce: Add Content To Additional Information Tab @ Single Product Page

The Additional Information tab on the WooCommerce Single Product Page displays information about product dimensions, weight, and possible attribute terms.

There are hooks, thankfully, that can help us display additional content in there, either above or below the attributes table. Enjoy!

On my dev site running the Storefront theme, I was able to add some HTML below the attributes table inside the Additional Information tab content.

PHP Snippet: Display Additional Content @ WooCommerce Single Product Additional Information Tab

Note: if you change “11” to “9” in the snippet below, the additional content will show ABOVE the attributes table as opposed to under it.

/**
* @snippet Add Content to WooCommerce Additional Information Tab
* @how-to        businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-customization
* @author Rodolfo Melogli, Business Bloomer
* @compatible    WooCommerce 8
* @community     https://businessbloomer.com/club/
*/

add_action( 'woocommerce_product_additional_information', 'bbloomer_add_content_additional_information_tab', 11 );

function bbloomer_add_content_additional_information_tab( $product ) {
	echo '<p>Test</p>';
}

Advanced Plugin: WooCommerce Product Tabs

Coding or editing PHP is optional, and I also discovered a reliable plugin that achieves a similar result to the above code snippet.

The Product Tabs WooCommerce plugin by Barn2 lets you do several things to customize the Additional Information tab. You can rename it or add an icon next to the name. Alternatively, you can hide it and replace it with your own custom Additional Information tab containing whatever content you like.

Where to add custom code?

You should place custom PHP in functions.php and custom CSS in style.css of your child theme: where to place WooCommerce customization?

This code still works, unless you report otherwise. To exclude conflicts, temporarily switch to the Storefront theme, disable all plugins except WooCommerce, and test the snippet again: WooCommerce troubleshooting 101

  1. This works great but only shows when you have attributes for the product. If you don’t have any attributes then it is hidden by default and anything extra added will not show…. bummer

    1. Try adding this line as well and let me know:

      add_filter( 'wc_product_enable_dimensions_display', '__return_true' );

If you are writing code, please wrap it like so:
code_here
. Failure to complying with this, as well as going off topic or not using the English language will result in comment disapproval. You should expect a reply in about 2 weeks - this is a popular blog but I need to get paid work done first. Please consider joining the Business Bloomer Club to get quick WooCommerce support.
