WooCommerce hasn’t meaningfully refreshed its admin UX in years, while competitors keep raising the bar. In this session, I’ll share a bold vision for WooCommerce in 2027, rethinking the admin from a merchant-first perspective. Through a concept redesign, I’ll highlight what’s broken, what feels outdated, and how a cleaner, more modern dashboard could make WooCommerce easier to use, build on, and trust.

Session overview
“WooCommerce in 2027: The New Admin Design” is my bold vision for how I’d like WooCommerce to look—shaped by my own experience, my network, my WordPress colleagues, and the merchants I work with.
For nearly a decade, the UX of WooCommerce and WordPress has seen relatively little change, while competitors like Shopify have pushed sleek, modern admin experiences.
WooCommerce needs to raise its UX standards—far beyond the upcoming FSE overview pages. Being open source can no longer be an excuse for poor UX or for ignoring established design guidelines.
In this session, I’ll reimagine the WooCommerce dashboard through a concept redesign that fixes what’s broken, simplifies the interface, and makes daily work easier for merchants and developers. I’ll also highlight where WooCommerce and WordPress are stuck in outdated thinking—and how a fresh perspective could reshape the admin experience.
It’s time for a change.
Maybe by 2027, as the title suggests.
Maybe not.
But either way—it’s time.
