WooCommerce: Rename “Description” Title @ Single Product Page Tabs

For once, this is a PHP snippet I use on my own website 🙂 In here, I’ll show you how to change the “Description” H2 Heading in the description tab on the single product page. Enjoy!

Rename “Product Description” heading on the single product page

PHP Snippet: Rename “Description” Heading @ WooCommerce Single Product Tabs

/**
* @snippet Rename "Product Description" @ Single Product Page Tabs - WooCommerce
* @how-to        businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-customization
* @sourcecode    https://businessbloomer.com/?p=21711
* @author Rodolfo Melogli, Business Bloomer
* @compatible    WooCommerce 3.5.3
* @community     https://businessbloomer.com/club/
*/

add_filter( 'woocommerce_product_description_heading', 'bbloomer_rename_description_tab_heading' );

function bbloomer_rename_description_tab_heading() {
return 'Product Features';
}

Where to add custom code?

You should place custom PHP in functions.php and custom CSS in style.css of your child theme: where to place WooCommerce customization?

This code still works, unless you report otherwise. To exclude conflicts, temporarily switch to the Storefront theme, disable all plugins except WooCommerce, and test the snippet again: WooCommerce troubleshooting 101

  1. Hi there
    This didn’t work for me with woodmart theme. The Woodmart theme has extra produce tabs – would this be the problem?
    I have used a few of your snippets, thank you for sharing, they are great!

    1. Hi
      I used the code https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-edit-product-tabs-labels/
      which worked perfectly
      I think I got them muddled up.
      have also removed the Additional information tab which really bugged me as t had no other information!
      Thank you!

  2. Thank you, you are a lifesaver 🙂

    1. Cheers!

  3. Would it be possible to dynamically display the product name rather than static text?

    1. Hello Graham, thanks so much for your comment! Yes, this is possible – but unfortunately this is custom work and I cannot provide a complementary solution here via the blog comments. Thanks a lot for your understanding! ~R

If you are writing code, please wrap it like so:
code_here
. Failure to complying with this, as well as going off topic or not using the English language will result in comment disapproval. You should expect a reply in about 2 weeks - this is a popular blog but I need to get paid work done first. Please consider joining the Business Bloomer Club to get quick WooCommerce support.
